Brighters mobilized youth to drive climate action and address climate injustice through innovative initiatives. The Bangladesh Youth CoP engaged young people in climate policy dialogues.Friend Raiser debates explored links between climate change and human rights. The Youth Climate Conservation (YCC) program nurtured youth-led conservation efforts and nature- based solutions. These initiatives empowered youth leadership,fostered collaboration, and amplified young voices in combating climate injustice.

Highlights

Bangladesh Youth CoP

Brighters and ActionAid Bangladesh organized the Bangladesh Youth CoP 2023 to amplify youth voices on climate action. Around 1,000 Youth participants contributed to developing a Green Manifesto emphasizing renewable energy adoption ahead of national elections. The event provided a platform for youth to influence energy and climate policies towards a sustainable future.

Friend Raiser Debate on Climate Change & Human Rights

Recognizing the interconnectedness of climate change and human rights, Brighters organized Friend Raiser Debates that encouraged critical thinking and discourse among youth on the social and ethical dimensions of the climate crisis. These debates fostered in-depth conversations and raised awareness about climate justice, highlighting the disproportionate impact of climate change on marginalized and vulnerable communities

Youth Climate Conservation

Through the Youth Climate Conservation (YCC) program, Brighters nurtured youth-driven conservation initiatives and nature-based solutions within local communities. This initiative fostered a sense of environmental stewardship and promoted sustainable practices among young people. By enabling youth to take tangible action in protecting and restoring ecosystems, YCC empowered them to play an active role in mitigating the impacts of climate change and preserving biodiversity.
